About the Job

Are you excited about continuing to grow a successful niche publishing division? Are you excited and capable of ensuring we develop an ever more exciting offer for Warhammer fiction fans and finding partners around the world to make it available in as many territories and channels as makes commercial sense? 

The role encompasses every aspect of publishing from sourcing the best stories, through production of the products and  liaison with sales teams, both inside GW and externally with our partners around the world. As Manager you will join a busy and engaged team and drive to deliver the current roadmap of initiatives whilst shaping and planning out an even more ambitious one for the future. 

Maybe you have a strong commercial sales and leadership background, a niche product development background or perhaps you gained your skills running your own business and are looking for your next commercial move? This is a real opportunity for an experienced leader to define and develop this area to the next exciting step.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Create and deliver an operational plan to ensure the continued growth of the Black Library publishing business in line with Games Workshop’s core business strategy.

  • Ensure all products are of the right quality for GW’s niche business model and are profitably delivered on time to the agreed plan.

  • Work closely with all our studios to create and develop engaging characters, series and offers across all IP.

  • Ensure productive working relationships with third party distributors and internal sales teams that help drive both new releases and underlying sales.

  • Deliver new sales channels and territories for both physical and digital formats.

  • Ensure best practice standards and procedures are agreed, clear, in place and delivered whilst championing a continuous improvement culture.

You will have:

  • Proven experience in leadership sales/operational roles.

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to develop and write clear and concise business plans.

  • Proven experience of building relationships to deliver commercial results

  • Strong negotiation skills with experience in cross functional internal & external stakeholder management.

  • Proven track record of managing departments of specialists and developing high performing teams.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills

  • Extensive knowledge of our IPs and brands would be advantageous.

We know this will be a challenging and exciting role for the right individual and is a fantastic opportunity in a fast growing, ambitious company with passionate people. This role is based at our Nottingham Head Office and will involve travel to both Europe and North America.
