We have an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to be the global buying in your categories buying out sourced components for final GFR assembly in our factories and being the category expert within the company for your areas. Responsible for managing our global supply base across UK, Europe, Asia and the U.S, you will ensure critical paths are adhered to whilst ensuring stock and availability levels are met which meet customer’s needs. 

You will be the ‘go to’ person responsible for building & maintaining strong supplier relationships & effective sourcing and onboarding of new suppliers to reduce risk and improve supply options.  Owning the end to end’ product critical paths, you will work with logistics to deliver best routes to market.

Ensuring all relevant databases are up to date with performance analysis/supplier scorecard maintenance, you will actively work on reducing supplier delivery lead times.

Negotiating the best commercial agreements/terms and rebates with our supply base to the advantage of Games Workshop will be second nature to you. Ensuring buying prices/cost of goods are negotiated and managed to deliver margin targets & suggesting methods & implementing solutions which reduce costs are all the things you enjoy from a Buying role. You will leverage your leadership experience to positively influence within the department and cross functionally, you will handle ad hoc projects within the team as directed.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven buying experience, ideally from a manufacturing and/or global omni channel retail environment.
  • A proven track record of building long term supplier partnerships through supplier performance management.
  • Experience in leading and empowering supplier and colleagues to deliver above expectations.
  • Advanced & confident negotiation skills and supplier management gained from exposure to domestic and international supply base.
  • Experience in using buying software.
  • An engaging communication style, confident and driven, not afraid to speak up
  • Excellent critical thinking & problem solving skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Good literacy, numeracy and computer skills, e.g. MS office / Google suite.
  • Ability to work under pressure and work well in a team.
  • Strong administrative, organisation & prioritisation skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities at any one time.

Other Essential Information

Location: In this role you will be working at our head office in Nottingham (UK) and remotely from home.

Travel: There will be global travel as required to establish new sourcing markets, assess and manage supply base and attend international trade shows.
