About the Job
Games Workshop has a rare and exciting opportunity for a Product Tester to join our studio team.
Our Hobby products have to be suitable for all kinds of hobbyists; from those at the very beginning of their hobby journey, to those competing to wield the mighty Slayer Sword itself! Self-aware and with the ability to challenge your painting preferences, you will put aside any bias to adjust your working style to suit a variety of painting techniques and approaches.
Working with the Product Developers, you will support them in their quest to create new and exciting paints and tools. Your primary role will be to put new paints through their paces, making sure that they perform to the high standards expected of our products and that they are compatible with all our existing hobby supplies. You’ll also occasionally be asked to contribute to a wide range of other projects, from brushes to tools and much more.
Your can-do attitude will shine through, as when you aren’t testing, your time will be filled with other valuable studio support tasks. From assisting in research on a variety of topics to maintaining studio supplies and painting assets for demonstrating new releases, your organised nature will ensure the studio keeps running, no matter what is going on. Always ready, you can jump from one task to the next, juggling many projects with ease in an ever-changing environment.
Working closely with other team members, you will thoroughly test each sample passed to you, diligently recording results and summarising your findings to the project leads. You’ll also have a voice, passing on recommendations, suggestions and ideas for improvements.
Thorough and methodical, you know that your results will be seen on millions of models globally, and you take this responsibility seriously, applying care and respect to everything you do. What makes this job hard is maintaining concentration when faced with repetitive tasks. The care and attention of the last test should match the first, even if there have been 100 tests in between.
If you have an affinity for the Warhammer hobby this could be the role for you! Experience in a design-related role is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
Later in the application process, applicants will be asked to complete a colour acuity test successfully.
