About the Job
Are you an experienced Engineering Manager who enjoys improving how things work, developing skilled staff and keeping complex operations running safely and efficiently?
Based at our Nottingham headquarters, you will manage a technical team of up to 5 direct reports and oversee engineering support across our Lenton and East Midlands Gateway facilities. In this role you will manage our Site Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering teams. Our Site Engineering team delivers maintenance of our facilities and associated infrastructure, whilst our Manufacturing Engineering team delivers maintenance of our production equipment across all of our factories.
As the person managing both teams you will assess engineering needs across the whole business. In doing this you will identify and resolve risks and turn opportunities into practical improvements. This will include developing planned preventative maintenance programmes, managing engineering projects, establishing and delivering meaningful departmental KPIs and long-term plans, overseeing costs and ensuring we receive excellent value from contractors and service agreements. Working closely with teams across Health and Safety, Project Management, Procurement, Quality and Training, you will also maintain full compliance to standards and policies, minimise equipment and facility downtime and support the development of our engineers and apprentices.
To succeed, you will have experience within a manufacturing, engineering, facilities management or operational environment, alongside proven experience managing technical staff. You will understand maintenance programmes, health and safety and continuous improvement, and be confident managing competing projects, priorities, risks and opportunities across multiple sites and shifts. Experience of infrastructure projects, contractor management, cost forecasting and working with manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, resin production, paint production or tool making would be particularly valuable.
Just as importantly, we are looking for someone who shares our values. You will be honest about what can be delivered and improved, humble enough to keep learning and courageous enough to take action. You will build trust, set high standards, and remain tenacious when challenges arise, while working collaboratively and always seeking to understand what our business needs. If you want to help Games Workshop continually improve and support our long-term ambition to make the best fantasy miniatures in the world, we would love to hear from you.
Working at Games Workshop
At Games Workshop we are looking for people who will do their best to understand the needs of the company and to put those needs first when they are at work. Because of this we believe that what you are like, hence the attitude you show to work and the way you choose to behave is even more important than your skills and experience.
The Warhammer World site is based just outside of Nottingham city centre and benefits from a nearby tram stop and free onsite car parking.
In return for your hard work, you will receive 33 days holiday per year (including public holidays), matching contributory pension scheme up to 7.5%, profit share bonus (subject to GW meeting profit targets) and option to join our Share Save scheme. Oh and let’s not forget, a staff discount of between 25% and 50% on our products!
