About the Job
The Benefits Specialist is an integral part of Games Workshops People HR department. They are responsible for managing and administering a company’s employee benefit programs, from retirement plans and health insurance to life insurance and beyond.
Benefits Specialists have an in-depth knowledge of both benefits and the federal, state, and provincial laws that govern them for both U.S. and Canada. They’re also the go-to person for both new hires and long-standing employees looking to make the most out of what their employer offers.
Job Responsibilities:
We’re looking for someone to help manage and support a variety of healthcare and wellness programs, including medical, dental, disability, and family leave benefits. You’ll assist with administering benefits, retirement programs, and open enrolment, while also handling all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork. You’ll ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, prepare annual audits, and resolve any insurance disputes or benefits-related issues. Additionally, you will answer employee inquiries about benefits and claims, and maintain accurate data in the HR system to ensure correct vendor information.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have honest and empathetic conversations and build strong relationships with everyone you work with. You’ll need 10-15 years of experience in benefits administration and a strong understanding of employee benefits and related laws. We’re looking for someone with excellent research, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. You should be proficient with computer systems, maintain confidentiality, and present yourself professionally at all times.
