About the Job
Games Workshop has an exciting opportunity for a Warhammer Managing Editor to join our studio team to set the direction and ambition for the writing and editorial teams, and to deliver ever-better Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar products through world class writing and editing.
Passionate about people, driven, and a great manager, you’ll be the ultimate guardian of editorial quality for our products as you define quality standards and guide the teams’ activities from research and development and IP ideation through to mainline production. Through setting clear goals and monitoring individual progress on projects, you’ll coach, lead and inspire the background writing and editorial teams to continuously improve the quality and efficiency of their writing and editing, across all modes of writing and product types.
You’ll work closely with key contacts in the studio, in particular, the Creative Leads, to gain key information and to ensure the correct IP, tone and atmosphere are being presented in our products. You’ll build a network of strong relationships with wider business teams, including Product Developers and Planners as you allocate appropriate resources for projects and schedule all work for the writers and editors.
Highly organised and with an attention to detail, you’ll manage multiple workstreams, people and budgets to deliver across multiple projects simultaneously. We’ll look to you to analyse and interpret data outputs from KPI’s to improve editorial quality and products.
We are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of how commercial writing studios operate, who thrives in managing creative teams and delivering world-class copy, and has a passion for creative writing.
