Games Workshop is looking for a Group Financial Controller to join our high-performing finance team. If you want to work for a FTSE 250 business in a pivotal finance role, then this newly created position could be the one for you.
We are looking for someone with a successful background as a senior finance leader who has supported an operational team to deliver exceptional performance, driving long-term shareholder value while creating a supportive work environment.
Your ability to navigate complex situations with integrity and compassion will ensure that we maintain the highest standards in all aspects of our operations, as you will take ownership of the implementation of policies and processes, ensuring compliance with all financial reporting standards and technical updates.
Being naturally inquisitive with a keen eye for detail, you will develop an understanding of cost drivers within Games Workshop establishing a robust internal control framework that supports business growth, and always ensure that Games Workshop has effective mechanisms in place to mitigate risks and safeguard assets.
You will build strong relationships through effective communication and people skills, providing key strategic information to the leadership team to inform decision-making, driving growth and controlling costs, cash and being responsible for credit control. You will always ensure reliable insight on Games Workshop’s performance is provided. Being technically sound and an expert in your field, you have strength in preparing budgets and financial forecasts to guide financial planning and resource allocation.
You will have the confidence to challenge and show resilience where required, demonstrating strong commercial awareness and the ability to talk to a range of different people throughout the business, providing clarification on the interpretation of numbers. Possessing strong critical thinking, you will compile comprehensive board packs that include detailed financial analysis and reports. You will ensure that the board is always well-informed and equipped to make strategic decisions.
With a pragmatic approach, you will oversee the external audit process as well as work collaboratively with the internal audit team to ensure any issues identified, are resolved in a timely manner.
Being technically strong, ideally with a background in statutory reporting either within industry or audit, and have up to date technical IFRS knowledge.
