About the Job
Games Workshop is recruiting an exciting new role for a Trademark Paralegal to work in our high performing legal team.
You’ll use your passion of protecting Games Workshop’s intellectual property as you manage trademark filing, portfolio administration and external counsel relationships, ensuring trademarks are protected and maintained. This is a varied role, and you’ll do this across the multiple jurisdictions we operate in.
We’re looking for someone confident in their ability to work independently as you coordinate trademark filings across the UK and overseas. You’ll need to bring clarity through all aspects of your communication as you’ll be the primary liaison with the external counsel, issuing clear filing instructions and ensuring submissions are completed on time.
You’ll use your skills to manage trademark prosecution by implementing advice from the external counsel on objections and procedural requirements, ensuring responses are submitted to protect trademark rights.
Trademarks will be your speciality, but we are looking for someone structured, methodical, and who values consistency in their work as you conduct trademark clearance searches for new and existing products to assess registrability.
Just as important, you’ll be approachable and down-to-earth, able to communicate well and adapt your style to suit whoever you’re working with. In doing so, you’ll be supporting the business to make confident, well-informed decisions, minimising the likelihood of opposition and infringement.
To be successful in this role, you will need excellent organisational skills as you will need to maintain trademark records by managing the portfolio. This includes registrations, applications, renewals, and deadlines, always ensuring data integrity and visibility of status. You’ll need all of this, coupled with the pragmatism to reduce risk, operate at pace, and shift gears quickly within the context of an evolving business environment.
If you have experience working in a legal support role within an in-house legal team or private practice, are commercially astute and strive to deliver high quality results within a supportive environment, we want to hear from you!
