About the Job

Games Workshop has an exciting opportunity for an Art Commissioner to join the Black Library Art and Design team, where you will work with freelance artists to source and deliver the best quality artwork for Black Library’s bestselling and award-winning range of novels, illustrated editions, art books and more!

Passionate about the Warhammer IP and with a strong eye for detail, you will understand the fundamentals of what makes a good piece of art to source and deliver the best quality artwork in line with Black Library’s publishing schedule.

Highly collaborative and articulate, this role will see you working with a wide pool of freelance artists, where you will be responsible for scheduling, overseeing and guiding the creation of captivating commercial solutions for a variety of projects, including novel cover art.

You will understand the importance of maintaining in depth IP knowledge as we’ll look to you to be diligent in ensuring visual consistency with the Warhammer IP on all projects.

You will thrive under pressure, continuously generating unique and exciting ideas and developing creative, engaging and thorough artwork briefs.

You will actively seek feedback on all projects from relevant teams, and deliver thorough and timely feedback to freelance artists in order to deliver the best quality artwork for Black Library.

Resilient and highly organised, we’ll see you plan and deliver a busy schedule of work as you proactively manage projects to ensure all projects are delivered on time and that Black Library’s high quality standards are met.
