About the Job
Games Workshop has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Illustrator to join Black Library, where you will be responsible for creating illustrations for the award-winning publisher’s best-selling range of novels, illustrated editions, art books and more!
In this role you will be responsible for producing great quality commercial artwork that celebrates Warhammer’s thrilling characters, settings and stories. Your work will be used on novel covers across Black Library’s fiction ranges, and in art-led and premium products, including our growing range of art and background books.
Highly creative and with a deep visual understanding of the Warhammer IP, we will look to you to produce visually engaging, detailed and IP-accurate artwork based on a brief. You will possess a well-developed artistic skillset with a strong focus on anatomy, composition and colour. You will be versatile, capable of creating a wide variety of artwork from large battle scenes to single character vignettes. You have demonstrable experience producing consistently high quality work whilst adhering to strict deadlines.
Dedicated and hardworking, you’ll maintain good art practice by actively engaging with feedback on your work, and implementing changes positively. Driven to continuously improve, you’ll have an awareness of the techniques and skills you wish to develop and will seek out the input and guidance you need in order to continually push the quality of Black Library’s art.
If you are an Illustrator with industry experience, impressive drawing skills and a strong portfolio of published work, we want to hear from you!
